Bakers Beach - North Coast

Bakers Beach

This beach sits at the end of a national park - so parking permits are required. It is a long sandy beach with plenty of jumping waves. It is not uncommon to score cross to cross of conditions. Seems to work best if you get 18-24 hrs of strong NW and then a Westerly or WSW change. You need a forecast with plenty of power. If the wind forecast is 30-40 knts then it will work. If its 20-30 then I would consider Bell Buoy instead.

Bakers is accessed from the road joining Exeter to Devonport.

General - Great jumping with far more potential for cross off sailing than Bell Buoy or Low Head. Low Head area picks up more wind and swell size but it is not as well groomed.
