Furries - West Coast

Furries

The photo above does the area no justice. It has a fairly consistent left hander about 50 metres north of the rock island. It is a beach break so it can change quite a bit. Again this break is best sailed only when other breaks are to small. It can be 2 ft at Bluff and half mast at Furries.

It is works cross-off in a sourtherly wind direction. Your main problem with this area will be getting out if it gets too big. This break is at the end of a long beach so it can have quite a big rip running past it on the odd day.

Keep in mind there are no lifesavers here.

For me Furries and all of Arthur beach is the best jumping beach of the area. Waves just keep getting bigger as you go out. There seems to be 2 sets of sand bars.

Great steep waves - good for learning big air jumps.
