About Nomadic

Nomadic gatherings are mobile and have a hold period over consecutive weekends. This allows the amateur hardcore wave sailor the best chance of being able to attend and also gives the gathering a high probability of being held in awesome conditions.

Tasmania’s relatively small size allows the format to be mobile. You can pretty much be at any wave sailing spot within 5 hours.

Why is this event unique to this area? Tasmania is located in the “Roaring Forties” and has the WORLD’S longest fetch of open water bordering its western coastline. This is why it earns the title “The edge of the world”. The top NW tip near Cape Grim is the ship wreck capital of the world. Need I say more? Nomadic has no limits for the hardest of hardcore wave sailing! The limits are only placed there by yourself.

Whether Nomadic is on or not is judged by the 4-7 day forecast. People who pre-register an interest with us will receive an e-mail, SMS and possibly a phone call. Otherwise just keep checking the website for the latest info.

In the tradition of nomads, we travel to wherever the conditions are most suitable. Nomadic will be held wherever the forecast indicates the best conditions for a hardcore wavesailing experience.
